Thrift and charity shopping haul

Neglected treasurers and dusty gowns are all found in a place where it is said to be forbidden and bound...

But, I off-course tested this place and found a paradise that is beyond comprehension and believe, where toys dance secretly at night and beautiful Victorian gowns have masquerades.

So this is my treasures from my hunt at many grubby thrift stores and charity shops. However, if you may wish, you can watch my haul on my YouTube channel avril vanes:

A Victorian Victory:

This beautiful vintage Victorian silver mirror is from Sue Ryder. I instantly fell in love with this masterpiece of a mirror when I saw it; and the best part is that it was only £3.00. Now that's a good deal!

A Mystical Encounter:

I also bought this cute unicorn charm necklace from Sue Ryder for £2.00. This was a hand made piece of jewellery. Its simple but spectacular!

Dolly's Skirt:

Next, I went to RSPCA and found this navy blue felt circle skirt with adorable little bows and black velvet lines. This costed me only £3.99 and it is made by New Look.

Pandora's Box:

Finally, I came across this oriental styled jewellery box with this pretty wallpaper print on its inside. I had to get this captivating box with its seductive pattern and prints as it was just £1.99.

What are some of your thrift shopping gems?

Fall Lookbook Gothic Grunge Alternative

Coppery leaves swamp the streets as rain crashes and lightning strikes, a curse is placed by the gloomy ones and a blessing is heard from the sane ones.

This is fall at its best, with a bitter welcome from some but not all, as I off course made a tribute for autumn with a collection of outfits that I styled. You may wish to watch my look-book on my YouTube channel avril vanes:

Dragon's Den: Fiction never dies as dragons are in disguise! A truthful fairytale burning its flame even in the coldest days.

In this look, I wore a firey-red lace circle skirt (Primark) with a  DIY'ed black crop top under the black lace vest (Primark). I also wore black tights with sliver zip detail on the back (Primark) with my beloved black leather lace up combat boots (Primark). My black jacket with the leather sleeves (Primark) tops up my look and gives it a smart but edgy feel.

Tip: if you  wear allot of black clothing, you can always wear one bold coloured item to really brighten up the look and catch people's attention (just like what I did here with the red skirt, as it was the starting point of styling the look).

Now, when it comes to jewellery, I wore black lace necklace with a silver dragon pendent (Boutique).

Pins N' Needles: Natural wounds with artificial cures.

Here, I am wearing an olive green dress (Primark) which I DIY'ed with some recycled black, rose gold, silver and gold safety pins. Also, under the dress I wore a black lace vest (Primark) so that the pretty lace detail could appear through the dress's 'wounds'. I wore a pair of thick black tights (Primark) and my day to day black leather combat boots.

Tip: mixing metallics when accessorising is a great way to make a statement and be subtle all at the same time.

For accessories, I wore a gold necklace with a couple kissing (Super drug) and a vintage inspired necklace with green-turquoise circle pendent (Claire's). Also, I added a belt of crosses to snatch and snazz my waist (Primark).

Picture Perfection: Misconception and betrayal never looked this perfect before.

For this outfit, I wore a pink and grey flannel shirt (TK Maxx) and under it is a matching pale pink vest (Primark). The tight black skirt (Primark) is perfect for this look as it balances out the two patterns from the tights (Primark) and the shirt. But under these thin patterned tights is a thick nude pink pair of tights (Top Shop) and as always I am wearing my black combat boots.

Tip: layering tights of different textures, thickness, patterns and colors can add a great twist to your look.

For jewellery,  I added silver angel wings to the collar of my flannel shirt to keep it magical!

Victorian Rebel: Defying logic and time is a principle that can never be more allowed.

Here, I wore a Victorian styled black turtle-neck top (Top Shop) with a pair of black leather jeans with a blue undertone (Republic) and my go to black combat boots.

Tip: a mixture of two styles in one can make an interesting hybrid of a look ( just like here with the Victorian shirt and the modern edgy leather pants)

Now, for jewellery I wore a black leather chained necklace with a coffin pendent (Boutique), a cross bracelet (Republic) and two silver rings (Claire's). One ring is an old fashioned vintage inspired key and the other is a silver wing.

This is my interpretation of Fall, full of ill-logical, mystical and rebellious looks. What do your outfits say about Fall? Which outfit spoke to your soul?

What is your favourite outfit?
